Archived description

Shiraz is a well equipped Hunter Passage 42, extensively outfitted for long range coastal cruising by previous owners, she is now seriously for sale by the estate of her current owner.

A powerful masthead rig, center cockpit, and spacious accommodations make for an exceptionally comfortable, fun to sail cruising boat that provides excellent value for your money.

Protected by a large dodger and bimini, the center cockpit affords excellent visibility, and easy sail handling with all control lines and winches led aft. Motoring from this position is equally enjoyable, and seeing both the transom and the bow makes docking easy!

Outfitted for cruising, Shiraz has a double anchor roller with CQR and Bruce anchors ready to deploy. The jib is on a Schafer furling system, and inboard shrouds make walking up and down the deck easy and safe. The mainsail is rigged with a Dutchman flaking system, and the mast has a separate track for a storm trysail. The stainless arch houses the traveler, as well as a large solar panel, with a liferaft mounted to the deck below. At the transom a Forespar dinghy davit with another large solar panel allows for a large dinghy. Transom boarding is easy with a few steps up to the main deck.

Inside, the main salon is expansive with plenty of room for lounging or entertaining. The galley is to starboard, the navigation station to port aft of the companionway. Forward is the VIP berth with its own dedicated head, and aft is the large master suite with ensuite head. A large berth with plenty of storage is a key highlight to this design.

Mechanical access is great, and though some systems could benefit from an update, her systems are proven. Whether you plan to take her coastal cruising again or just enjoy the spacious accommodations, Shiraz is an excellent value!
